Ireland Day 6
The first period of the day was regular classes but from then on, it was a little special.
In the second period, the students had a chance to mix with the Irish Buddies once again, giving them time to chat with their friends in English.
After lunch, there was a special International Party with all the students mixing together for an International Food section (including foods from Ireland, Italy, Spain, Romania, etc) and different types of bouncy castles (including an assault course and other active games). Because of the many chances to mix with other students, the Etoile group were now much more comfortable talking to everyone. The Japanese food was prepared by the teachers and students, including making mini rice balls (bite-sized onigiri) in front of everyone. One student from Nepal prepared a special Nepali dessert while another prepared Japanese stew (nikujaga). It was a great afternoon and everyone had a blast!
After school, the students spent some time with their host families for dinner and to prepare for a special party, called a Disco in Ireland. The Etoile group chose the theme "neon" for their outfits. It was a dance party with a DJ and the all the students easily jumped right in, right at the front of the stage and in the center. Most of them never left the dance floor! The students danced the night away until the end of the party and, though exhausted, were all smiles. It was a new type of school party that they wouldn't have experienced in Japan.
